Why did the date get shifted?

We originally were planning for the wedding during October 17/18 weekend; however, when we were offered the farm up in Paso Robles, we found out that during that time, the Harvest festival was going on. With hotel rooms scarce, and those remaining with prices completely jacked up, we decided to move the date up to October 3, where room prices were more reasonable.
